A Fathers Gift to You

When you grow old and your hair turns grey

I hope you will look at my picture and say

My Dad was one who’s  love never failed

He was there for me and he never bailed

He was the one that all throughout my days

Was always there even when he had hard things to say

The hard lessons about life sometimes hurt but are true

Sometimes they were words that you need said to you

Then there were days when I felt alone in this world

My Dad always had that sense and was there in a whirl

A true loving Father’s job is not to be your best friend

But a role model, mentor and Your Safety net until the very end

From My World To Yours,

Bob baker
