I saw a lady walk into a store just the other day

When the man walking in front of her let the door go in her face

 

Then when I checked out of there the cashier never said boo

She could have least smiled and said hi and how are you

 

As you watch people today they really can be very rude

Whatever happened to people saying “PLEASE” and “THANK YOU” 

 

You never see people holding the door open for another

Hell I bet most today would even slam it on their mother

 

When I was growing up we were taught courtesy and grace

You got up and offered your seat when a lady walked in the place

 

We would never have dreamed of not saying “YES MA’AM” or “THANK YOU”

Because if my Momma ever saw it you would when she got through

 

Life seems to be changing and in some ways not for the best

But I was raised to have GOOD MANNERS, for this I’m very blessed
