The look in the eyes of people walking slowly down the street

The look on the face of many wondering how long they can eat

 

Without a job and no money coming in how will we all survive

Is the topic of discussion between a desperate husband and his wife

 

The government felt wise to shut down the lives of so very many

Forcing businesses to close and leaving people without even a penny

 

This virus is here now and in the future another will surely come

Bringing with it sickness to many and even bring death to someone

 

Now the experts are saying we should never again hug or even shake hands

But for me to have to live a life that way I’m afraid I would not be able to stand

 

Leaders need to let everyone open their businesses and put our country back on track

And let the American spirit and ingenuity start fighting to build our country back
